Wheels Up!

All good things must unfortunately come to an end. Very grateful to be travelling again! Oh, how I have missed that. Creating new memories every day while abroad - priceless!

This morning our apartment had arranged a taxi service to whisk us away to the Napoli airport for our flights home. The taxi driver had arrived before the scheduled pick up time which was fine, since we were waiting at the front with the owner of the apartment, Massimo. There was an 18 Euro flat rate charge for the 15-20 minute drive to the airport.

We had checked in online the night before, including uploading proof of vaccinations. All flights departed and arrived on time. We connected through Frankfurt once again and had to show proof of vaccination at the gate along with our ArriveCAN app receipt. All good....until we arrived in Toronto. Although we arrived on time, we were unable to disembark the aircraft for 90 minutes. There was congestion in customs, so this was their way of crowd control. We were eventually let off the plane and headed to customs where we met moving lines to the Customs kiosks and then to the baggage carousel. Our luggage was found separately in rows and rows of suitcases. It took some time to find my suitcase, but success in the end! And that was it....and just like that, our trip was over!

In the end we logged over 160 000 steps and 105 km on foot. What a great trip! Ciao!
